My personal story with Dobermans

Trigger warning: This post mentions early death. So when you experience loss, you might feel uncomfortable.

This post is my personal story. And this is the post I've planned since I started this blog.

1. Why I won't raise a Doberman in the near future (if the situation didn't change)

I'm a teenager now; I'll enter college next year (I'll have the test earlier than my peers), and my family don't like dogs.

Plus, the Doberman Pinscher is a high-maintenance, high-energy breed that is prone to separation anxiety; they need daily exercise, mental stimulation, and proper socialization. Because they are large dogs, food and veterinary care cost more than for small and medium-sized dogs.

That means I can't have a Doberman now, and I should be financially independent and stable to get a pet.

But the most important factor is that I have heard far too many stories online about people whose Dobermans crossed the Rainbow Bridge before even ten years of age due to DCM, and many people said they couldn't get another Doberman anymore because of this. Since Dobermans are loving dogs that love their owner unconditionally, I believe I would find it difficult to cope with the aftermath if I were to witness something happening to them.

2. Why I fell in love with Dobermans

Then, I need to talk about the reasons Doberman Pinscher is one of my favourite dog breeds, along with Samoyed, Japanese Spitz, Cocker Spaniel, and Border Collie.

The thing I love most is their intense bond with their owners. They show unconditional love and trust to the person they are devoted to. So I’d feel like having a best friend in life with a Doberman.

The second is... yes, their appearance and cuteness (?). They are elegant and graceful dogs. And I personally think Doberman puppies look so lovely and pretty. I like to see Dobermans playing with their blankets and plushies, or cuddling with their owners; that is just so cute.

3. My experience with Dobermans

I haven't met Dobermans in real life; the closest thing is my character, but she is fictional.

In the place where I currently live, Dobermans are not a very common dog breed. Most people have toy breeds here (I don't like many of the dog breeds that are popular here, though).

But I'd like to see Dobermans in real life.
